Say it's a rainy summer evening. Feel like having the glow of a fire without the heat? You can have it with an electric fireplace. Just turn on the flame and cozy up. Or put an electric stove in the kitchen and take the chill off on a cool fall morning without needlessly heating the entire house.
Because there's no chimney or vent needed for electric fireplaces and stoves, you get 100% heating efficiency. They don't emit as much heat as their gas or wood counterparts, but they don't need to. Their fans circulate heat quietly and effectively.
The Addison electric stove is a charming route to convenience—no installation needed. Just plug it in to any 120 volt outlet and you’ve got heat and a fire to gather around. Its size (approx. 22w x 25h x 16d) makes it ideal for an apartment, mobile home, or small cabin. Like the electric fireplaces, you can have flames without heat, too. And, since it’s made by Vermont Castings, you get the Insta–Flame Ceramic Fiber logs and Ember Bed.
The Allura-Fire BREF30 and BREF42 electric fireplaces can go almost anywhere—condo, lake cabin, new home, or remodel. You can even get them without heat (but who would do that in this part of the country?). They’re an ideal solution if you can’t run a gas line for a fireplace or if you don’t want a wood fireplace. You can have your BREF model hardwired or order it with a power cord attached for plug-in to a 110 outlet.
Better yet, you have complete control over the appearance of your new electric fireplace. Have it installed flush with the wall (see BREF30 and BREF42 enlargements) and design the rest of the room around it, or you can choose from Majestic’s handcrafted Markham and Cortland mantels and cabinets.
Other features include mesh screen or tempered glass bi-fold doors available with four accent colors. All include a log grate with realistic ceramic carved logs and gently glowing ember bed. With a built-in thermostat, flame height and speed control, and remote control, you’re ready to curl up in a chair with a good book or invite the neighbors over for cocktails on a summer evening at the lake.
